KIN
DIRECTION FOR START-UP
-2025
KIN was developed as a strategic design direction for a grooming start-up, establishing a clear and scalable visual identity for its first product platform. The objective was to define a calm, recognizable language that could support future product families while positioning the brand within the premium personal care segment.
The design is based on a continuous, monolithic form, creating a strong and coherent foundation for modular development. This architecture enables efficient adaptation of internal components and dimensions while preserving consistent proportions and brand recognition.
The design language is defined by a restrained balance between soft, sculpted surfaces and precise functional detailing. Subtle curvature enhances ergonomics and control, while sharp interfaces communicate technical precision and reliability. A single central control dial acts as both interface and visual anchor, reinforcing simplicity and usability.
Packaging and accessories were developed in parallel to reflect the same values of restraint and material responsibility. Recycled fiber materials, minimal graphics, and structured component placement emphasize longevity and craftsmanship over disposability.
Together, the product and system establish a strong foundation for KIN.’s future portfolio. Positions the brand around functional clarity, material honesty, and emotional restraint, transforming everyday grooming into a considered and lasting experience.

PROCESS
The project began with market and user research to identify expectations within the premium grooming segment. Through sketching, form studies, and iterative prototyping, multiple concepts were explored and refined. The final design direction emerged through close evaluation of ergonomics, brand positioning, and long-term system scalability.
